Hello reader,
I want to take you on a short, immersive journey to EXPERIENCE the story of a musician who has laid her soul bare about the one thing she cares about the most—Mother Earth.
Sushma advocates for the planet through gig theatre with her traveling musical group, HOME SoS.
Before you read this piece, please listen to the seven songs to FEEL their emotions, EMPATHISE with them, and better UNDERSTAND their stories.
Check out my interview with Sushma and Aishwarya, producers of HOME SoS: Sounds of Sustainability, using music and theatre to advocate for environmental sustainability and justice and raise awareness for climate change!
Sushma shares her experiences creating the album HOME and a live production that combines classical music with traditional and contemporary elements to convey the message of environmental conservation. She discusses the emotional impact of music on her audiences, who have gone ahead and taken action to transition to a more conscious lifestyle.
Aishwarya, as the founder of Indianuance has been Sushma’s advisor on her journey with the album HOME. And it was Aishwarya's involvement with the project and music that led her as Indianuance to becoming a co-producer in creating the vision for HOME SoS. She discusses the importance of incorporating sustainability practices in their company, such as carpooling and using eco-friendly materials for concerts!
This blog piece draws attention to how important art and entertainment are in sensitising people to climate urgency by creating a powerful connection to environmental issues.
